There were flashpoints at the Ijanikin area of Lagos on Thursday as hoodlums and rival gangs in Ijanikin community in Olorunda LCDA attacked each other as masquerades from the community allegedly assaulted an indigene.
Many miscreants lashed on the situation to attack sellers at the shoe, bags and textile market.

Commuters plying the Lagos Badagry road were forced to make detour and escape the intense situation.
Well meaning members of the communities had severally sent an SOS to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to address the barbaric acts of the youths of the area.

About a week ago, angry youths from the area had blocked same Ijanikin section of the road protesting the death of an Okada rider in the area who allegedly died in the hands of Policemen.
