An Eyewitness said a passerby boarded a bike immediately and chased him to a distance where he was caught and handed over to the police.
The Police Public Relations Officer Lagos Command, Benjamin Hudeyin in a statement confirmed that the suspect is in their custody and will face the law.
Hundeyin added that the suspect’s vehicle has been impounded and that the Embassy of Lebanon in Nigeria has been informed.
Hundeyin’s words: “On May 4, 2022, at about 0745hrs, a middle-aged Lebanese by name John Greg ‘m’ drove a Toyota 4Runner recklessly and against traffic on Sanusi Fafunwa Road thereby hitting one Omotomi Akinsanya ‘f’ which resulted in serious injuries to her leg.
“He sped off but was chased and arrested. Suspect is in our custody. Vehicle impounded and in our station. Victim undergoing treatment at LASUTH. Victim’s family was duly informed. The Embassy of Lebanon duly informed as well. Investigation ongoing.”
The victim, Omotomi is reportedly in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital where she is currently receiving treatment.
