Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cast his vote at Polling Unit 085, Ward F, Sunday Adigun, Alausa, in Ikeja area of Lagos State.
The incumbent governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who belongs to the same party as him, is contesting against other leading candidates – Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party and Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Commenting on his official Twitter handle after voting, Tinubu wrote: “I just joined other Nigerians in exercising my civic duty in the ongoing governorship and state assembly elections. I encourage you all to go out and vote peacefully.”
