Gov. Bello Thanks Buhari For Appointing Niger Indigene As NECO Registrar

Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, has applauded President Buhari for appointing first indigene of the state as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NECO.

President Buhari had on Tuesday appointed Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer NECO.

Wushishi replaces the immediate past substantive registrar of the examination body, Godswill Obioma, who died few weeks ago in Minna, Niger State capital and headquarters of NECO.

He is professor of science education at the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Niger State and also hails from the State.

In a message contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mrs Mary Noel Barje,  the governor described the appointment of Professor Wushishi as the right choice.

He also described the new NECO Registrar as an outstanding and reputable academician who has achieved so much and made the state and the country proud in the educational sector.

He maintained that the new NECO Registrar will discharge his duties with diligence and high sense of patriotism which are his hallmark in the long years of service in the academic circle.

While wishing the new NECO Registrar successful tenure in office, the governor expressed confidence that the university Don would bring his wealth of experience to bare in the administration of the nation’s examination body.

“We are proud that one of our own has been credibly picked to heard the nation’s examination body, we must support him to succeed, because, if he fails, it is Niger state that fails,” Bello said.

Until his new appointment, the 56-year-old Wushishi had served in many capacities at Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto, and Federal University of Technology, FUT, Minna.

Professor Ibrahim Wushishi had also participated in many national assignments assigned to him by institutions, such as NECO and National Universities Commission,(NUC).
