Geregu Leads Gainers’ List, As Airtel Africa Top Losers’ In Nigerian Stock Market

The Nigerian stock exchange market capitalisation ended trading with N25.74 trillion, on the back of the All-Share Index which closed with 47,260.89 ASI.

At the close of trading, investors exchanged N2.36 billion for over 140.67 million shares in 4,371 deals on Thursday.

Top five gainers

  • Geregu share appreciated by N10.90kobo to rise from N110 to N120.90kobo per share.
  • Livestock grew N0.10kobo, up from N1.02 to N1.12kobo per share.
  • Cutix ended trading with N2.16kobo from N2 per share, rising by N0.16kobo.
  • Cornerstone gained 3.92 percent to end trading at N0.53kobo, having opened with N0.51kobo.
  • FCMB’s stock was up by N0.12kobo, closing with N3.25kobo from N3.13kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Airtel Africa depreciated by N200, dwindling from N2000 to N1800 per share.
  • Prescon also fell by N14.25kobo to end trading at N128.35kobo, after opening with N142.60kobo per share.
  • Okomu Oil followed the same path, losing N18.80kobo after trading hours, to sell at N188.30kobo from N169.50kobo per share.
  • Honeywell Flour reported a decline of N0.20kobo from previous day’s share price of N2.31kobo to end trading at N2.11kobo per share.
  • Redstar Express share depreciated to N2.12kobo from N2.32kobo, after losing N0.20kobo during trading hours.

Top five trading equities in stock exchange

  • GTCO reported 27.72 million shares valued at N471.4 million were traded on its floor.
  • Sterling Bank recorded 25.42 million shares valued at N39.04 million.
  • Zenith Holdings saw investors trade 14.40 million of its shares valued at N276.45 million.
  • Transcorp recorded 13.20 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N13.82 million.
  • Geregu reported 4.96 million shares valued at N586.75 million exchanged investors’ hands.
