Fury, Whyte Sign Deal For WBC Fight In April

Heavyweight boxing giants Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury have signed a contract for their WBC heavyweight title fight billed for April 2022, according to reports monitored on Skysports.

The contract has been finalised and lodged to the World Boxing Council in the closing hours of a deadline day for Whyte and Fury to reach an agreement.

Whyte, who holds the WBC interim title after a rematch win over Alexander Povetkin, will challenge Fury for the right to become WBC heavyweight champion.

The Briton secured his WBC mandatory title shot after knocking out Povetkin last March, while Fury retained his WBC belt with an 11th-round knockout of Deontay Wilder in October.

The winner of the Whyte versus Fury fight for the WBC heavyweight belt could face the winner of Oleksandr Usyk’s rematch against Nigerian-Briton Anthony Joshua for the WBA, IBF and WBO belts if Anthony as has been muted does not get paid to step down.
