Four Things That Should Be Part Of Our Christmas CheckList

 

 

Christians all over the world today (December 25) are remembering and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. 

 

As people merry this season, it must be said that this is not only time to flash glamour but for some reflections and execution of good deeds. 

 

Prime Business Africa’s Senior Correspondent IZUCHUKWU OKOSI in this piece takes a look at four things that should be part of the celebrations. 

 

 

1. Humanitarian Jobs

 

Doing good cannot be overemphasised. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) should be part of our Christmas plans.

 

Remembering those who are less fortunate, in sick beds, in correctional centers, and others that cannot afford good food, clothes, shelter etc. on this day ought to be part of our Christmas bucket list.

 

 

 

 

 

2. Sober Reflection On God, Jesus, Other Men 

 

Man (in generic sence) that is both genders, should have time to reflect and have self introspection of their relationship with Jesus Christ and indeed God the father.

 

 

 

As we celebrate the birth of Christ, we should have sober reflections on the kind of lives that we have led this year and give a honest assessment of what we have done thus far.

 

Does it glorify the One whom we claim to love and celebrate?

 

 

Or is the day only for merriment? How is our relationship with our fellow men in the society?

 

 

 

 

3. Review Of The Year And How To Improve The Next Year

 

At work places, places of worship and businesses, it is time to take stock and ask ourselves if we have done enough and project towards next year on how to be better versions of ourselves.

 

These are all parts of what today should serve. The food, drinks and parties are not bad but should be checked so as to not lose the essence of the day.

 

 

 

 

4. Taking Note Of Our Children’s Association 

 

Christmas day is a great time for children to go outing and associate with their peers.

 

But how are the parents and guardians ensuring that they are in good company?

 

Being curious about the movements and plans of the kids should not be much of a problem for parents and guardians on this day as majority of them live on the fast lane.

 

The days are evil and the activities of the young ones, who they see, where they go, what they watch, what they read, what they eat and so on must be taken seriously.

 

It is dereliction of duty not to do these things today and always by parents and guardians.
