Players of the Nigerian U-20 national team, Flying Eagles have received the sum of $2, 400 each from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) being the sum total of their allowance during the WAFU B tournament in Niamey, Niger reports Prime Business Africa.
The Flying Eagles won the Sub regional tournament which automatically means that they will play at the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt in February 2023.
The team defeated Benin 3-1 to book their place at the AFCON which will produce Africa’s three representatives at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Ladan Bosso led team were hosted in Abuja by the sports minister Sunday Dare when the amount which was their individual camp allowances were revealed.
The players were also handed the sum of N60, 000 each for their transportation back to their teams.
Date for the resumption of their camp ahead of the 2023 CAF U-20 AFCON has not been confirmed.
