The Federal Government is set to repair roads affected by floods in five states across the country.
In a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs Boade Akinola, the Minister for Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, gave the directive at a briefing in Abuja.
The affected roads to be repaired include Ibadan–Ife road, Gombe–Bauchi road, Gombe–Darazo, Bauchi–Ningi, Bida–Lambata, and Tsamiya Bridge in Jigawa State.
Fashola who further assured Nigerians of the Federal Government’s continuous attention to other roads with similar problems stated
that the government remains committed to infrastructure development and immediate response to complaints from her citizens.
He finally urged commuters to be patient with the government, blaming the rainy season as a hindrance to road construction in the country.
