Everton Secures Premier League Status After Win Against Crystal Palace

Everton survived a nervy evening of football to secure another season in the English Premier League with a comeback 3-2 win over Crystal Palace at the Goodison Park Thursday evening.

Jean-Philippe Mateta and Jordan Ayew had put Palace ahead but Michael Kaene put one back for the Toons before south London was brought down to its knees when Brazilian Richarlison restored parity in the 75th minute.

Substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin however sent the fans to cloud nine with the decisive third goal.

The Meserysiders now have 39 points, four points ahead of Burnley and Leeds United going into the final match days of the season on Sunday.

In the other Premier League games on Thursday, Chelsea and Leicester City played out a 1-1 draw, Aston Villa and Burnley – also battling for their lives in the top flight – finished on a 1-1 draw too.
