Controversial Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has responded to his ex-wife May Edochie’s recent reflections on the tumultuous events of 2023.
The estranged couple faced a tragic loss when their first son, Kambilichukwu, passed away in March 2023 after collapsing while playing football at school.
In a social media post expressing gratitude for a successful 2023, Yul declared it as his best year yet. However, May’s New Year post painted a starkly different picture.
She wrote: “Dear 2023, you were pregnant on the very first day of Jan. unknown to anyone what you would deliver. You dealt with me in the most catastrophic ways, stealing my own flesh and blood, leaving me in the most miserable state imaginable.”

Yul, in a now-trending post on his official Instagram page, responded with accusations against May. He claimed that she underwent breast enlargement surgery and a tummy tuck in 2023 without his consent. According to Yul, these actions were apparently endorsed by her married boyfriend.
“2023 stole your flesh and blood, but you still had time to do breast enlargement surgery and tummy tuck without your husband’s consent. Obviously endorsed by your married boyfriend.
“Enough of the manipulation on social media for people to hate me and feel pity for you while you enjoy your life secretly. Because they don’t know the real you. I will not take it in 2024. I have been silent for too long. I have been doing my best to protect your image while you are doing all you can to destroy mine,” stated.
In related news, Nigerian fashion designer and influencer, Yomi Casual’s wife, Grace Makun, has advised Yul Edochie’s first wife, May Edochie, to change her surname on Instagram.
Grace Makun offered the advice after May used her page to reflect on the previous year, 2023, claiming it had stolen her flesh and blood and left her in the most terrible condition.
May was emphasizing her 16-year-old son who died tragically last year, after collapsing during a game football at school. Also that same year, her husband married another woman as a second wife.
Even though the businesswoman and Yul Edochie are no longer together after the actor’s marriage to Judy Austin, a colleague, Yul’s surname is still on her page as they are yet to divorce officially.
