England Stuns Spain, Qualifies For Euro 2022 Semifinals

England’s Three Lionesses came from behind to defeat Spain 2-1 on extra time Wednesday night at the Amex stadium to advance to the semifinals of the Women’s Euros 2022 tournament.

Sarina Weigman’s team will face Sweden or Belgium on Tuesday.

The English side went down to an Esther Gonzalez’s goal who put the Spaniards ahead in the 54th minute with a fan tastic team goal.

England did scored a supposed goal that was subsequently ruled out as Lucy Bronze was offside.

The English had a shout for a penalty when Lauren Hemp fell over in the box but French referee Stephanie Frappart gave it the other way.

Yet just when it looked like it might be going away from England, the leveller came six minutes from time and it was two substitutes who combined.

Alessia Russo headed the ball down for Ella Toone to smash home from close range. Spain were furious and wanted a foul but it was not given and the goal stood.

And then in extra time, it was a moment of sheer brilliance that completed the turnaround.

Bayern Munich star Georgia Stanway blasted in an absolute thunderbolt into the top corner from outside the box and sparked huge limbs at the Amex.
