Despite the widespread reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested former Aviation minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, the Ekiti born politician late Tuesday night sensationally debunked the arrest story.
Kayode affectionately known as FFK according to a Lagos based media outlet (not Prime Business Africa) claimed that he was only invited by the agency which he duly answered by flying down to Lagos.
The reports stated that Kayode arrived the office of EFCC at 2pm on Tuesday and left at 8. 30pm before he headed to the George Hotel, Lagos for dinner afterwards.
The ‘update’ from the news source added that officials of the EFCC were “polite and professional” towards him albeit curiously he disclosed that he was “bailed on recognition.”
The former minister had never shied away from expressing his opinions on national issues.
