Davido Set To Perform At 2022 World Cup Closing Ceremony

 

Nigerian superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is expected to serenade music and football fans worldwide with his performance in the closing ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on December 18.

 

The multiple awards winner and his now wife (then girlfriend) Chioma Rowlands on November 1 lost their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, who drowned in the couple’s swimming pool.

 

That family disaster forced the artiste to be off social circles albeit recently he was present at the inauguration of his uncle as Governor of Osun state.

 

Davido had been booked for the closing ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup when he is expected to perform the World Cup anthem Hayya Hayya (Happy Together)’ alongside Trinidad singer, Cardona and Qatar singer, Aisha.

 

The bereaved singer, who lost his son on November 1 and took a break from public space, is set to return to stage for the first time in about two months with a landmark performance at the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Davido’s adoring fans recently held a heartwarming concert in his honour as they celebrated the icon in a show that has been described as the ultimate display of love.

 

Following the death of his son, Davido eventually got married go his heartthrob in a quiet ceremony on November 6.

 

Fans and friends of the superstar are keen to see his stage performances in the aftermath of the son’s unfortunate news early last month.

 

Nigerian music stars Kizz Daniel also performed at the Fans Village in Doha on Wednesday, 23rd November 2022 that attracted hundreds of fans.

 

Nigerian stars like D’banj, Wizkid amongs others have been getting invitations to be part of top sporting events both on the continent and abroad.

 

The pop culture has been taken a top notch by the Nigerian music industry in the past three decades.
