Dangote Vows To Shun 2022 FIFA World Cup

Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote has vowed not to attend the 2022 World Cup in Qatar if the Super Eagles fail to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World in Qatar.

Nigeria will face Ghana over two legs late March for one of the slots to represent Africa at the Mundial and Dangote who has been a passionate lover of football and was once linked with a possible acquisition of English Premier League side Arsenal has bared his mind on the Eagles’ World Cup aspiration.

“It is not only important to me, it is important to all of us here, that is what will make us proud as Nigerians,” Dangote told sports journalists.

“If Nigeria does not qualify I won’t go there,” Dangote reiterated.

Dangote has a net worth of $13.9 billion and was hugely committed to the revamp of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja where the Eagles will host Ghana in the reverse fixture of the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs at the backend of March.

The leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation according to reliable sources has elected to appoint Austin Eguavoen on permanent basis as the head coach of the Super Eagles with Emmanuel Amuneke as the assistant coach.
