Dangote To Headline Edo’s 7th Alaghodaro Summit

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Group and Africa’s richest man, will take the centerstage as keynote speaker in the upcoming 2023 Alaghodaro Summit.

The summit, celebrating the seventh anniversary of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration, promises to be a showcase of the state’s transformation into an industrial hub.

Dangote’s presence will undoubtedly add a new dimension to the event, where he is set to reveal his unique experiences as an investor in Edo State.

Scheduled to run from November 8 to 12, this year’s summit carries the theme, “The Edo Story: Creating Shared Opportunities into the Future.” Eire Ifueko Alufohai, Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee and Executive Secretary of Alaghodaro Economic Summit Limited/Gte, expressed excitement about Dangote’s participation.

She noted, “We expect that insights by Africa’s richest man would do justice to questions regarding the reforms undertaken in the State in the last seven years to open Edo up for investment.”

Dangote Group’s contribution to the state’s development over the last seven years includes the completion of the greenfield six-million-metric-tonnes Okpella Cement Plant, which has boosted the conglomerate’s cement business in Nigeria.

His insights at the summit will shed light on the landmark reforms that have improved the ease of doing business in Edo State, attracting investments and stimulating economic growth and development.

Alufohai continued, “The upcoming summit, being the last to be celebrated under the sterling leadership of Governor Obaseki, will highlight the gains of the government’s business-friendly policies and reforms over the past seven years that have spurred investment in various sectors of the State with a strategic focus on expansion and sustainability of these investments for long-term economic prosperity and advancement.”

The Alaghodaro Summit 2023 promises a series of exciting events, including the Edo Women Conference, Ancient City Tour, the main Alaghodaro Summit, Muslim Prayers, an Award and Dinner, the Governor’s Golf Tournament, Food Fair, and a Youth Concert. The event will culminate on November 12, 2023, with a Thanksgiving Service.

With Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s participation, the Alaghodaro Summit 2023 is poised to be a platform where business, investment, and transformative ideas take center stage, showcasing the journey of Edo State in becoming an industrial and economic powerhouse.
