COVID-19 Delta Variant Not Connected To Niger Delta – Okowa

Governor of Delta state, Ifeanyi Okowa has clarified that COVID-19 Delta variant is not synonymous with Niger Delta, advising the people to continue to abide with protocols against the pandemic.

He advised that the people of Delta State adhere to the stipulated precautions by wearing facemasks and employ the sanitizers.

He said this while commissioning executed projects in Sapele Ethiope West Local Government Areas of the State.

Okowa also enlightened the attendees of the event by telling them that they should not believe that COVID-19 no longer exist.

He said, “The numbers are now on the rise and prevalent, especially in Lagos State, even though the Variant Delta is not synonymous with Delta State, I am seriously appealing to all the good people of Delta State to use the face mask and the sanitizers, as prescribed. We must all do the needful to ward off the pandemic in the State.”

Projects commissioned by Governor Okowa on were newly constructed roads in Sapele and Ethiope West LGAs, the Oghara Modern Market in Oghara as well as the Ogini Grammar School, Ogharefe, Oghara.

Goveenor Okowa who could not hide his delight at the school project commissioning hinted that it was inherited from his predecessors.

He added that “Every good project started by our predecessors, that is, former Governor James Ibori and former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan would be completed by this administration”.

The Governor then muted the idea of changing the name of the school to Ogini Model College and charged the visibly elated students of the institution to take their academuc pursuit with much more seriousness by studying hard to enable them come our excellently well.
