Chelsea Holds Managerial Talks With Nagelsmann

Chelsea have held face-to-face talks with former Bayern Munich manager, Julian Nagelsmann as part of their search for a new manager.

The German was sacked by Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich last month after less than two years in charge.

Despite holding talks with Naglesmann and his representatives , the process to find a new manager is ongoing – with Luis Enrique also reportedly of interest to Chelsea.

Sky Sports scooped that Luis Enrique has already held talks with the Blues after travelling to London to present his ideas and talk with club officials about the vacant position some days ago.

Nagelsmann has now joined Luis Enrique as a manager to undergo in-person talks with Chelsea regarding their vacant managerial position.

Chelsea fired Englishman Graham Potter less than seven months after leaving Brighton & Hove Albion to replace Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge.

Nagelsmann, one of the highest-rated young coaches in the game, has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur.

The 35-year-old worked with Chelsea sporting director Laurence Stewart and technical director Christopher Vivell while he was in charge at RB Leipzig.

Nagelsmann is regarded as one of the game’s brightest managerial talents, having taking charge of Hoffenheim aged just 28 before moving to RB Lepizig, whom he led to the Champions League semi-finals.

He then joined Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in 2021, winning the league title in his first season alongside two German Super Cups.

However, his relatively young age could count against him as Chelsea had a similar young coach in Andrés Villas-Boas in the past but he did not command the respect of the dressing room as some of the players were older than the then 34-year old tactician.

Chelsea icon, Frank Lampard is in charge on interim basis but has had a torrid three-game spell with three defeats and a big task of overcoming a 2-0 first leg defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals tie.
