Chief Ezeonwuka who made the call while congratulating the commissioners, told them that they were carefully selected to bring their expertise, their experience, exposure, capacity and competence to bear on governance of Anambra State and nothing short of good performance is expected from them because the expectations of a greater Anambra is high.
He added “No excuses, the Governor Professor Soludo has set out Agenda to achieve what he described as a liveable and prosperous Anambra State, so as a Commissioner under Soludo, your job is clearly defined and that is to join hands with the the Governor with your expertise, your experience, your exposure and everything you have to give us a liveable and prosperous State”
The APGA chieftain told the Commissioners that Anambra need a robust economy through industrial businesses, clean and green environment with efficient waste management system, a decent transport system with less traffic gridlock, decent internal revenue generation system, ease of doing business with functional road network and jobs creation for youth through agriculture and sports with a view to get the youth off the street and off criminal activities.
He harped on the need to use the instrumentalities of agriculture and sport particularly football, basketball ball, track and field among other sport platforms to create jobs for the youth noting that countries like Jamaica and States like Washington, New York, California, Texas successfully used sport to get the youth into meaningful activities against crime.
