NIGERIA’s President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed grief over an unfortunate incident of fuel tanker explosion at Freetown, capital of Seirra Leone which claimed the life of at least 99 people and injured more than 100.
Buhari in a statement on Saturday issued through his Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu said the sympathies of the entire nation are with the government and people of Sierra Leone.
The tragic incident happened late on Friday when a fuel tanker had a collision, and many people rushed to the scene to scoop petrol shortly bofore the truck exploded.
President Buhari said he is anguished by the unfortunate loss of lives and injury to so many. He offered condolences on behalf of the government and people of Nigeria to the bereaved families, the government and people of Sierra Leone and wished the injured an early recovery.
