Buhari Condemns Killing Of Katsina Commissioner, Dr Rabe Nasir

…Urges Law Enforcement Agents To Fish Out The Culprits

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the assassination of Katsina State Commissioner of Science and Technology, Dr. Rabe Nasir.

The President described Nasir’s killing as a heinous and condemnable act, adding that there is no place for such violence in the country.

Buhari through a statement released on Thursday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu, said he is deeply anguished by the tragic killing of Nasir who he described as an upright leader that had served his community, state and the nation with utmost diligence.

“My thoughts are with the bereaved family,” the President said.

He urged the law enforcement agencies to do a thorough investigation and bring to justice all those who are behind the crime.

Dr Nasir was reportedly assassinated by gunmen in his house at GRA along Daura Road in the state capital at night.

The State Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Buba confirmed that the incident happened on Wednesday night.

“The unfortunate incident happened last night,” the CP stated on Thursday.

Prior to his appointment as commissioner, Nasir had served as House of Representatives member, representing Mani/Bindawa Federal Constituency, and also a former staff of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
