Buhari Appoints Bello-Koko As Substantive MD Of NPA

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mohammed Bello-Koko as the substantive Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

This was revealed in a letter from the Ministry of Transport, signed by Eric Ojiekwe, Director, Press & Public Relations, which was released on Tuesday February 15.

Bello-Koko had been working in acting capacity following the suspension of the former MD, Hadiza Bala Usman in May 2021 by the Federal Government over allegation of unremited N165 billion by the agency between 2016 and 2020.

Prior to the appointment, Bello-Koko was the Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the NPA.

The appointment takes immediate effect, the statement indicated.
