The planned Tuesday meeting between governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari as repeated by other newspapers five days after, has reconfirmed this newspaper’s exclusive report indicating that the governors would meet on the said date to authenticate the zoning arrangement.

Prime Business Africa had, in the February 15 report – ‘APC Works For Unity List Ahead of February 26 National Convention’ – stated clearly that the President would upon his return from the EU-AU Summit in Brussels this weekend meet with the governors on Tuesday to confirm the Unity List that would ensure the National Chairmen emerges from the North Central and the National Secretary from the Southeast.
This newspaper also correctly reported that Southwest, in the agreed arrangement would produce the National Publicity Secretary and the South South, the Deputy National Chairman.
Northeast as at the time of the exclusive report was being considered for the position of the National Organizing Secretary.
Except for Prime Business Africa’s correct report regarding the planned Tuesday meeting, major national/traditional newspapers and online platforms had speculated a different date until today when some reports turned around to confirm the exclusive report.
Recall that Prime Business Africa was the only newspaper that first correctly reported the National Convention date as well as APC’s zoning arrangements for Presidency and national party offices.
Three months ago, it also reported that President Buhari would not sign the Electoral Amendment Bill as first submitted by the National Assembly due to costs associated with the direct primary provision, among others.
