BUA Cement, Transcorp Top Trade, Stock Market Cap Closes With N28.13 trillion

Over N33.71 billion was gained on Wednesday, representing 0.11 per cent growth in the Nigerian bourse’s market capitalisation, which rose from N28.10 trillion to N28.13 trillion.

The All Share Index closed with 51,657.56 ASI, adding 61.9 basis points to the 51,595.66 ASI recorded a day before.

Data from the capital market showed 4,156 deals were sealed on Wednesday after 265.72 million shares, worth N13.52 billion, were traded.

Today’s trading contrasted with the 321.67 million shares, worth N4.34 billion, that were exchanged in 4,122 deals on Tuesday. 

Top five gainers

Nigerian Breweries share appreciated by N4.10kobo to rise from N41 to N45.10kobo per share  

Nahco grew by N0.70kobo, up from N7 to N7.70kobo per share  

Living Trust ended trading with N1.76kobo from N1.60kobo per share, rising by N0.16kobo. 

FCMB gained N0.35kobo to end trading at N3.86kobo, having opened with N3.51kobo 

Fidelity Bank stock was up by N0.43kobo, closing with N4.79kobo from N4.36kobo per share 

Top five losers

Champion Brew depreciated by N0.55kobo, dwindling from N5.50kobo to N4.95kobo per share. 

Unity Bank also fell by 6.78 per cent to end trading at N0.55kobo, after opening with N0.59kobo per share. 

UBA followed the same path, losing N0.30kobo after trading hours, to sell at N8 from N8.30kobo per share.  

Jaiz Bank reported a decline of 3.33 per cent from the previous day’s share price of N0.90kobo to end trading at N0.87kobo per share. 

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance share depreciated to N0.65kobo from N0.67kobo, after losing 2.99 per cent during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in stock exchange

BUA Cement reported 101.65 million shares valued at N9.85 billion were traded on its floor  

Transcorp recorded 32.77 million shares valued at N37.14 million 

Access Corp saw investors trade 22.95 million of its shares valued at N199.94 million 

GTCO recorded 12.22 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N284.42 million 

UBA reported 12.21 million shares valued at N99.41 million exchanged investors’ hands.
