BREAKING: Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah’s Convoy Attacked, ‘Many’ Policemen, Aides Killed In Enugwu Ukwu – VIDEO

A convoy belonging to Senator Ifeanyi Ubah was ambushed and attacked by heavily armed gunmen who killed some of his aides and police officers at Enugwu Ukwu on Sunday evening.

The ugly incident took place at Nkwo market area of Enugwu Ukwu in Anambra State.

The gunmen were said to have ambushed and attacked the convoy and killed many of them in the process. Helpless, the residents who were appalled by the bloody attack were said have invited military officers and they were on their way to the area as at the time of filling this report.

A video taken by citizens after that attack showed at least five bodies, two in police uniform. Another body was shown 100 meters away from the scene of the attack at.

Senator Ubah was said to have managed to escape as the car conveying him was bullet-proof, but was riddled with bullets.

Police Public Relations Officer of the state police command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga confirmed that there was an attack on men of the command at Enugwu-Ukwu.  He however, said that the number of casualties remained unknown.

“The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command, CP Echeng Echeng has today 11/9/2022 led Operatives to the scene where sporadic shootings took place in Enugwu Ukwu.

“Though the details of the incident is still sketchy, operatives are on ground there as operation is going on and the situation is being monitored,” the state police spokesman, DSP Ikenga stated.

Prime Business Africa reports that Senator Ubah attended  a wedding at Onitsha on Saturday and was on his way to Enugwu Ukwu to participate in a new yam festival organised by  ”Igwe Mkpume” in Enugwu Ukwu on Sunday when the attack occurred.
