Bayern Sacks Nagelsmann, ‘Appoints’ Former Chelsea Manager Tuchel

Bayern Munich late Thursday night sensationally sacked manager Julian Naglesmann and swiftly appointed former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, according to several sources in the German media.

However, the news has not been announced on the club’s official website but widespread reports available in various sources hint that the German Bundesliga champions have ‘signed’ Tuchel on a contract until 2025.

A 2-1 loss at Bayer Leverkusen in their last Bundesliga game appears to have spelled the end of Naglesmann’s tenure, as Bundesliga title rivals Borussia Dortmund leapfrogged them into top spot ahead of the season run-in.

Bayern have seen a 10-point lead over Dortmund evaporate since the start of the year and Nagelsmann, according to Bild, has paid with his job.

Tuchel’s first game in charge of the Bavarian would likely be De Klasicker battle against his former club, Dortmund, on April 1.

Tuchel is reportedly one of the candidates lined up by Tottenham Hotspur as likely replacement for Antonio Conte whose relationship with the Spurs’ owners and players have deteriorated.

Conte accused his players of not showing commitments to the team’s cause and also suggested that the club’s trophyless run which dates back to 2008 when they won the Carabao Cup could continue.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman, Daniel Levy is reportedly set to pay a £4 Million Severance package to the former AC Milan, Juventus and Chelsea manager whose contract is due to expire in the summer.
