Armed bandits have abducted Niger State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mohammed Sani Idris, in his home town of Baban Tunga village in Tafa local council of Niger State.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, Mrs Mary Noel Berje, in a statement made available to newsmen in Minna, stated that Idris was abducted at about 1am Monday morning.
Statement added that security agencies are already trailing the bandits with a view to apprehend them.
Confirming the incidence to our correspondent, the Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, explained that Sani Idris was abducted by unknown gunmen but assured that security agents are doing everything possible to rescue the Commissioner from his captors.
