ASUBEB Chairman Decries Teachers’ Poor Commitment To Work In Anambra Primary Schools

Chairman of Anambra Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, Dr. Vera Nkiru Nwadinobi has tasked teachers in the basic education sector on the highest standard.

Dr. Nwadinobi made the call during a monitoring tour of select-primary schools in Nsugbe, Anambra East Council Area.

The Chairman reminded teachers that Governor Soludo is a disciplined teacher who is passionate about high standards of teachers and teaching, emphasizing that genuine desire and intention of the present administration is to replicate top notch high standards in Anambra Schools.

Dr. Nwadinobi who discovered to her disappointment, that punctuality to school is a major problem for teachers, noticed that even the head teachers are not an exception as only ten out of twenty nine teachers in one school were present as at the time of morning assembly, until 8:00 am when she left.

She however reminded the teachers that dedicated teachers are supposed to be in school before the morning assembly which starts by 7.30 am and charged them to change their lackadaisical attitude and become more serious and dedicated to their duties for maximum performance of pupils.

She further warned that henceforth, disciplinary actions will be meted out on any teacher that plays with his/her job, as it will no longer be business as usual, because basic education is the foundational level and very delicate, which they should always bear in mind.
