APC Crisis: Andy Uba Wins, Convenes Caucus Meeting In Abuja

The Andy Uba faction of the Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) finally held its Caucus meeting in Abuja passing a vote of confidence in Andy Uba.

Prime Business Africa learnt that the Chris Ngige faction’s could not hold as planned because the APC national leadership gave tacit support to the Andy Uba faction.

Both Senator Chris Ngige and Andy Uba had planned to hold separate Caucus meeting at 10 am in Abuja today (Friday) in what would have been a public show of the divisive tendencies within the ruling political party.

It would be recalled that Ngige, a federal Minister of Labour and Employment could not openly support Uba’s governorship quest in Anambra an he (Uba) lost in a distant third position on November 6, 2021.

All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won convincingly with its candidate Professor Chukwuma Soludo, while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Valentine Ozigbo, came second.

The APC caucus meeting, which was originally scheduled to begin at 10 am today (Friday), could not start until 5pm. As at 7.40 pm, the meeting was still ongoing. It finally ended at about 8.15pm.

In attendance were Senator Ikechukwu Obiora, Hon Lynda Ikpeazu, Chuma Nzeribe, Hon Ralph Okeke, former Minister John Emeka, Hon. Nsofor, among many others.

Prime Business Africa reports that all the state working committee members were in attendance and that all APC members of the Anambra State House of Assembly flew in from Awka to join the meeting.

The National Secretariat of the APC was represented at the meeting by the Director of Organisation, Prof Al Mustapha.

Prime Business Africa learnt that the list of attendees were also made of the majority of APC stakeholders in Anambra State, including Ambassador Jerry Ugokwe, Hon.Lawrence Ezeudu, Hon. Nwokoye John, Ify Eze, Hon. Okonkwo Nonso, Chukwunonso Chinwuba, among others.

Prime Business Africa can confirm that all expected members attended the meeting with some members sending apologies as a result of the short notice given.

It was gathered that Senator Stella Odua, who just recently rejoined the APC, and Hon Chukwuma Umeorji, sent apologies because they got the notice late.

Others who sent in their apologies were Chris Azubuogu and Hon. Ewepudike.
