#AnambraDecides2021: APGA’s Soludo Marches To Victory, Leads In 17 LGAs

By Izuchukwu Okosi & Victor Ezeja

AS results of the Anambra governorship election trickle into the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters, Awka, from the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state on Sunday, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has recorded a sweep of 17 out of 19 local government areas announced so far.

Valentine Ozigbo of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Party (APC) were the runners up in that order.

Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) who won in one local government area came a distant fourth.

Intriguely no results were declared for Orumba North Local government area as results are being contested with the Collation Officer, Dr Michael Odu revealing that he signed the result sheet under duress and coercion and did not believe in it.

Election results of some polling units in Ekwusigo and some other local government areas were cancelled due to irregularities.

Collation of results in the remaining local government areas continues at the INEC headquarters.

There are 55634 polling units and 2,525,471 registered voters in the state. The governorship election was contested by 18 candidates.
