#AnambraDecides2021: APGA Candidate Soludo Restates Confidence In INEC To Deliver Fair Election

All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in the 2021 governorship election in Anambra state, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has expressed implicit faith in the integrity of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a credible election.

Soludo heaped plaudits on the electioral commission after casting his ballot Saturday evening after prolonged wait for the BVAS card reader to take the biometrics of those present at his Isuofia Ward 13, Unit 002 in Aguata Local Government Area.
Former Central Bank of Nigeria Chairman, Soludo voted after over five hours of wait for the electronic devise to function properly.
“I told you I’m an optimist, which is why I waited for over five hours, 40 minutes (to vote, at 5.10pm) because I believe INEC will come through, ” Soludo who arrived the polling unit at 11. 30am told the media.
“You can also see that in spite of the delay, our people waited patiently and were so determined to cast their votes, no matter the time. “That is to show you that APGA in Anambra and Anambra is APGA. I believe the will of God will prevail, no matter the delay. APGA will win. “I look forward to the credibility and legitimacy of the process. I also believe we have the popular mandate of the people and I believe the system will deliver at the end of the day,” he said.
At about 2p.m, only 18 persons that were successfully accredited could cast their vote.
Interestingly, accreditation began without hitches around 4.05p.m, when a new BVAS was deployed in the polling unit.
