Nigeria’s Oluwatobiloba Amusan on Thursday evening stormed to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles finals at the African Senior Athletics Championships in Mauritius reports Prime Business Africa.
The petite trackster finished the race in blistering 12.57s (+4.0)w to bag gold ahead of Morrison Ebony Leea of Liberia, who won silve in 12.77s, while Fourie Marione of South Africa settled for bronze in 12.93s.
The 25-year-old who als also competes as a sprinter won the 2018 Commonwealth and 2018 African champion in the event. She is also a two-time African Games champion and won the Diamond League Trophy in Zurich in 2021 in the 100m hurdles.
The 22nd African Championships is being held in Saint Pierre, Mauritius from 8 to 12 June 2022 at the Cote d’Or National Sports Complex. The event was originally scheduled to be held in 2020 in Oran, Algeria, but had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
