Air Peace has described “Google My Business” as a fraudulent page seeking to extort money from air passengers. It denied having link with the firm for ticket payment.
According to a statement obtained from Air Peace website, Google My Business is impersonating Air Peace brand. It also disclosed that some individuals and groups are demanding money for job opportunities in the airline.
“Our attention has been drawn to a certain “Google My Business” page on the web impersonating the Air Peace brand with the aim of defrauding unsuspecting members of the public by requesting that money be paid into the operator’s private accounts for flight tickets.
“We hereby wish to inform the general public that the page is fraudulent and should be shunned as Air Peace Limited will not ask its customers to pay into any private account,” the statement reads.
The airline owned by Allen Onyema also said it discovered some websites are demanding money from unsuspecting public for job opportunity offered by Air Peace Limited.
It disclosed some information that has been made available on some websites are likely to deceive job seekers and potential customers.
Air Peace said “certain notices and /or publications on some internet websites & public forums where some individuals and/or groups claim to be representatives of Air Peace Limited with an aim of defrauding unsuspecting members of the public by requesting for monies to be paid into their private accounts for;
“Air Peace flights tickets which can easily be obtained by anyone from our reservation and booking site.
“Training programs being conducted by Air Peace personnel followed by guaranteed employment with Air Peace Limited.
“The said notices and publications may contain information and symbols that lead members of the public to believe that Air Peace Limited is involved with or approve such notices and publications.
“We hereby alert the public that such notices & publications are clearly fraudulent and should be ignored.
“Our company is not associated in any way with the people publishing fraudulent notices or with the activities described in them. Members of the public are therefore advised to disregard such messages,” Air Peace said.
