Africa Union Commission, AFRIMA Appoint PWC As Official Auditor For Awards Verification

PricewaterhouseCoopers have been appointed by The African Union Commission and the International Committee of All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA)as the official international auditor of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) voting process and applications.

According to a communique released by the organisers, PwC will perform independent stress testing of the voting platform, conduct vulnerability assessment of the software deployed for improved security controls, carry out penetration testing of the voting system and interface, monitor public/academy voting portals, collate votes and present the sealed results at the award ceremony.

The AFRIMA 2021 showpiece will hold between November 19 and 21.

The glamorous event will begin with the Welcome Soiree followed by the AFRIMA Music Village, the Host City Tour, the Africa Business Summit and the exclusive Nominness Party, and concludes with a, live Awards Ceremony.

The Leader – Technology, media, Entertainment and telecommunication, PwC, Femi Osinubi expressed delight in supporting the event.

Head of Culture, Social Affairs Division, African Union Commission, Angela Martins, said: “This will enhance and validate the integrity of the AFRIMA platform. We wish to appreciate PwC for partnering and embarking on the AFRIMA journey with us.

The President and Executive Producer of AFRIMA, Mr. Mike Dada, said: “The engagement of PwC is to assure music fans, artistes and professionals in the music industry in Africa of the authenticity, independence and integrity of the AFRIMA’s voting process through the appointment of a globally renowned and credible third party to monitor, collate votes and deliver results at the award ceremony.”

The music events will  be broadcast to 84 television stations in 109 countries.

Izuchukwu Okosi

Izuchukwu Okosi is a Nigerian sports and entertainment journalist with two decades of experience in the media industry having begun his media journey in 2002 as an intern at Mundial Sports International (MSI) and Africa Independent Television (AIT), owners of Daar Communications Plc. In October 2004, Okosi joined Complete Communications Limited, publishers of Complete Sports newspaper and Complete Football magazine as a reporter and later script writer for the Complete Sports studio. He worked there for 13 years until October 2017. Okosi also worked various times as Correspondent, Content creator and Editor at Sports Market International Magazine, Opera News, All Nigeria Soccer Media and Iconic Media Watch. He also undertook freelance writing gigs for some local and international organizations. Okosi is a member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Association of Voiceover Artistes of Nigeria (AVOA), Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). He has been part of cast in some Nollywood movies and radio dramas including Blood Money 2, Scores To Settle, Dead End 2, Another Campus Tale and Battle Line. Aside mainstream media and the entertainment industry, he has interests in scouting/unearthing of talents in the sports and creative sectors, exports business and property development.
