Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi scored a 27th minute goal Wednesday night which was ultimately the winner for Nottingham Forest in a 1-0 win over Southampton at Saint Mary’s Stadium.
The defeat means the Saints have lost six Premier League games on the spin and won just once in 13 matches in all competitions.
Former Crystal Palace and Brentford striker Clinton Morrison was on analysis duty for Sky Sports and applauds the brilliance of the two front men, Awoniyi and Brennan Johnson.
In the previous game that Forest played against Chelsea, Johnson went for glory when the Nigerian, Awoniyi, was best placed to finish a blistering counter attacking move.

“Obviously on the weekend against Chelsea when he (Awoniyi) had an opportunity, it didn’t work but when he’s on the right place, he probably said: “make sure you square it to me this time,” Morrison said knowingly.
“Berran Johnson gets his head up and squares it because I know Neon Bailey would have told him: “you’re a wide player, Neon Bailey would have told him: ” you’re a wide player, you put the ball in the box and we score the goal.
“Awoniyi had a simple tap-in. Brilliant decision from Berran Johnson,” Morrison added.
The duo of Joe Aribo and Sam Edozie came off the substitute bench in the 64th minute for Southampton to substitute Romeo Lavia and Romain Perraud.
Nottingham Forest with the win, climbed to the 15th place in the table with 18 points after 18 games while Southampton remains bottom of the log with 12 points from 18 League matches.
