22-year-old Corp Member Arrested For Drug Trafficking In Abuja

NATIONAL Drug and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has arrested a 22 year old drug peddler in Abuja.
Arnold Maniru, who also doubles as  a serving corps member was arrested at the warehouse of a transport company, with 4kg of drug candies about to be imported to the United Kingdom, in his possession.
National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency Boss, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, stated this, while reacting to the arrests and seizures made by the agency. According to him,  in the past week, operatives attached to courier companies in Lagos have intercepted 1.2kg of cannabis hidden in locally made cookies headed for the Dubai, 1.08kg of cannabis  disguised as sprays headed for Pakistan, 920g of cocaine concealed in synthetic hair headed for Saudi Arabia, and  625g of methamphetamine hidden in clothes headed for Australia.
For Nigeria alone, the NDLEA has intercepted a total of  384.7 kg of narcotics at various patrol points in  Lokoja, Kogi state, mostly headed to Abuja, for sale.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the efforts of the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency, in curbing the spread of illegal drugs in the country.
The  NDLEA Chairman also applauded members of the agency for their diligence in clamping down on drug traffickers, and assured them of the President’s commitment to improving their welfare in the ongoing war against drug trafficking across the country.
