The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has pledged to carry on with President Muhammadu Buhari’s policies, assuring Nigerians that his government would not exclude anyone or  group from any part of the country.

Speaking at the mega rally held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, Saturday, November 26, 2022, Tinubu hinted on his concern to improve the education and health sector in line with President Buhari’s policies, and tackle the challenge of insecurity ravaging the entire country if elected president next year.

He also appealed to Lagos residents to vote for the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Femi Hamzat, for a second term, noting that they have performed well.

He said, You have seen the performance of Jide Sanwo Olu, and you have seen the success of Hamzat. Will you vote for them?”

The APC presidential candidate took a swipe at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, describing him as a selfish politician and a serial contender for the nation’s number one office.

He described Atiku as an ingrate for deciding to run in the 2023 election and urged his supporters to retire the PDP presidential candidate from politics by denying him voting in 2023.

His address during the rally, graced with music interlude, was mainly in Yoruba language. He expressed optimism that the party will win massively in the forthcoming election, boasting that it would be a broom revolution to trash all their opponents.

In his address, the Lagos Governor, Sawno-Olu, described Tinubu as an advocate and champion of unity, who has continued to stand for the cohesion of the country.

Sawno-Olu noted that Tinubu is the architect and builder of modern Lagos. He thanked him for having the vision, character and tenacity to push forth ideas that gave birth to the new Lagos today. The governor welcomed all APC leaders and supporters from all parts of the country who came to join them in the rally.

Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, said Tinubu is not a man of many words, but always focusing on achieving results.

Lalong urged the crowd to vote for Tinubu in 2023 and ignore other candidates, who according to him, tell lies and promise what they can’t do.

He informed the gathering that Buhari has requested that they give Tinubu more support than they gave to him in 2015 and 2019. “With Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, Nigerians will not have cause to regret,” the APC PCC DG stated.

On his part, the chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Atiku Bagudu, said the 22 APC governors were in Lagos to show their support and campaign for Tinubu, adding “All of us believe in Asiwaju Tinubu for the right reasons.”

Bagudu, who is the current governor of Kebbi State recalled how Tinubu tackled the issue of insecurity and the ‘Area boys’ menace in parts of Lagos when he was governor. He claimed that no presidential candidate has qualities that match what Tinubu and Shettima are bringing to the table, especially asb they relate to the capacity to improve on President Buhari’s policies.

He added that those qualities are what the APC leaders and the progressive governors have seen in them, and urged the gathering to take the message home and vote Tinubu/Shettima ticket in 2023 in line with President Buhari’s policies.
