The meeting will hold at the usual SSG Main Hall, Government House venue of traditional rulers’ meetings in the state. According to an invitation signed by Orjika Donatus, administrative secretary of the state’s umbrella body for traditional rulers, ASTRAC, Mr Obi will at 1.pm today (Thursday March 24, 2022) hold a special audience with traditional rulers in Anambra State.
The meeting is meant to ‘’notify Ndi Igwe Anambra State of his intention to contest the for president of the Federal Republic of NIGERIA,’’ according to an electronic message sent to all monarchs in the state.
Obi’s measured declaration for the Presidency in 2023 comes just as his colleague, the former Vice President and PDP’s presidential candidate in the 2019 general election Atiku Abubakar, declared intention to run on Wednesday.
Obi’s latest moves puts to rest speculations that he would likely run as vice president with his political ally in 2019, Alhaji Atiku who is also interested in becoming Nigeria’s president in 2023.
