Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday addressed the people of the Ahaoda community at Ogbo/ Ukordu junction in Ahoada East Local Government Area, the venue of the flag-off of phase two of Ahoada-Omoku Road.
Governor Wike while addressing the people of Ahoada community stated that the people have already been instructed on what to do on Saturday the 25th of February.
The governor urged the people to go and ensure that their permanent voter’s cards are handy, which they should use to “pepper” their political opponents.
“I am sure you must have brought out your PVC and kept it very well so that nobody will say my PVC is missing. Go now and put it under your pillow.
“By 6:30 in the morning on Saturday make sure you’re in your various polling units and use your PVC and pepper them. Help us and use your PVC to pepper those wicked people,” Wike said.
This is coming 5 days after the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) accused the River State Governor of working against his party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and officially joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.
The Spokesperson of the Atiku campaign council in the state, Leloonu Nwibubasa said that the visit of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, at the Government House last week Wednesday, after the APC flag bearer’s campaign rally in the state, proves Governor Wike’s political stance.
Nwibubasa stated that the sudden support for Tinubu despite his criticism of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government has shown that Wike lacks integrity and has no credibility left in him.
Given Wike’s political career, it is rumoured that the Rivers State governor seeks a soft landing after his tenure comes to an end on May 29, 2023.
