According to a statement signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party approved the adjustment on Wednesday, 18th of May, 2022.
The statement indicated that primary election for Governorship and House of Representatives will hold on Thursday, 26th of May, 2022, while Senate and House of Assembly will be on Friday, 27th of May, 2022.
Election appeals for Governorship and House of Representatives will be heard on Friday, 27th May, 2022; Senate and House of Assembly, Saturday, 28th May, 2022.
According Morka, there will be a special convention for presidential Primaries from Sunday 29th to Monday, 30th May, 2022.
Prime Business Africa reports that the ruling party has been adjusting its 2023 elections timetable, since the first schedule presented after it’s March 26 national convention.
This is despite the warning by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that political parties should maintain the deadline set for primaries which is June 3, 2022.
