2022 World Cup Qualifier: Morroco FA Grants Liberia Requests To Host Super Eagles In Tangier

NIGERIA’S penultimate 2022 World Cup qualifier against Liberia in the second round stages to be played on November 13 is expected to be played in the Morrocan city of Tangier after the Royal Morocco Football Federation granted the request of their Liberian counterparts to host the Nigerian side.

The Sam Konyon stadium in Morocco did not make the cut for the qualifier as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) failed to approve it after inspection team of the body visited the facilities two weeks ago.

The Liberians played their last ‘home’ game in the qualifiers against Cape Verde at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana.

The Moroccan football body however on Friday granted the request of Liberia FA to use the stadium for its remaining home game against Nigeria and the Central African Republic.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles camp for the crucial encounter in Tangier and the last game of the qualifying round against Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun stadium Lagos will open on Monday, 8 November 2021.
